With some of these posts, I feel cheated. There are only 78 courses within 100 miles of Austin Tx (I've played 24 so far). However, there are over 30 within 30 miles - all reachable within 30 minutes.

haha, I only have 4 that are reachable to me in 30 minutes. One is a pitch and putt, and another is flooded or bogged up with mosquitoes for more than half the year, and the other two are just under 30 min. away. Who is the one that should feel cheated?

Edit: I know people that only have one or two within 30 min. of them, so I don't take what I have for granted.

104 courses within 100 miles! I guess I should make some sort of offering to the Deities of The Disc Realm for my blessed fortune.

212 courses within 100 miles, but a lot of them are on the Michigan coast which if I didnt ha\/e to pay $100 to cross by ferry or dri\/e around Lake Michigan I would ha\/e already played a bunch of them. Maybe next summer I can hit up Michigan!!! I ha\/e played 104 of the 212 (not including practice or temporary courses)

I have 80 courses within 100 miles thanks to Indy, Evansville, Bowling Green, Lexington and Cincinnati being close by.

it says there is 42 but i know ther are at least 60. alotta private courses around here, i can think of 6 of the top of my head that are invite only courses

I hope this thread is dormant enough that no one will mind if I kill it with facts.

This table shows the percent of population that has at least X courses within 100 miles. (Date from DGCR as of 1/1/11 and the 2010 US Census.)

More than half of the population of the United States has 50 or more courses within 100 miles. Somewhat troubling is that 2,046,884 people don't have any courses within 100 miles.

A chart showing how many people have exactly X courses within 100 miles (for X = 0 to 174) is here.

There's 1 18 hole course in my town and the next closest is 50 miles away, then the next is 60 miles away, then 70, then 80... And it would be difficult to loop them together in a day because they are sooooo spread out.

Thank goodness I've have several baskets on my 2+acre property.

Damn, move to Central Texas man!! I have 92 courses within 100 miles. Gotta love being 90 miles from Austin and DFW...

Well, there's the wife, the kids, the payments on the property, the business, etc...

Thankfully the course in town is a good quality BLUE level course, and the new one I'm working on has potential to be high quality, so we're gaining. :)

Oops, I included Canada. There are only 476,084 residents of the U.S. that are more than 100 miles away from the nearest disc golf course. 124,290 of those are in Alaska, and 58,463 are in Hawaii. See "Zero courses within 100 miles" thread for more details.
