I guess this poll would apply more to well-travelled DGers, though you certainly can vote based on hearsay alone!

What region of the U.S. is the BEST for DG? I base these regions on the U.S. Census Bureau classifications.

You can vote for more than one. I guess you could pick 'em all if you're a DG nationalist...

I've never dg'd up there, but I've spent some time in the pacific NW, and there could be some great courses based on the topography. I'll be in Jacksonville, OR (above Medford) Labor Day if anyone has any suggestions on where to go. :)

Jax had a couple of courses!! Haven't played them yet!!! But you should always pack you weapons when going on a trip!!! You never know!!!!

Everything is better in Texas

I thought it was "bigger"...which isn't necessarily always "better," especially if you're talking about the size of your meth habit or how your Texas scorecards reflect much BIGGER scores! ;)

Def. South 1. With all the courses in Charlotte, NC and in the surrounding areas you can't go wrong.

Nope it is better. Size does not matter unless we talk to your wife. :D

Actually, if you put IA, MN, WI and MI in a group, you'd have your winner right there.

You could rename this poll, "What part of the country are you from?" and have the exact same results.

More or less, I'm sure! But many of us have travelled a bit and played courses all over (me, I've been pretty much stuck in the WI/IL/MI area for my DGing days), and I'm sure some of us have come back from vacations/road trips and thought, "Man, I wish I lived in (insert state/region name here)...their courses are SO MUCH BETTER than (insert your state name here)!"

I could've done a state-specific query, but I like the "region" idea better, as far as giving people some guidance in planning their next DG vacation...that, and some states that are sorely lacking (I'm looking at YOU, Rhode Island!) could be redeemed by their brethren states.

Midwest #1 all the way. Western Michigan is living the good life with Flip City, Mason County, Leviathon, Branstrom and Whitehall all within 2 hours of each other. South of Chicago there are some great 18+ holers in the Joliet area and southern Wisconsin has a couple real nice college courses.

You MUST go to Whistler's Bend. Just a short drive north of where you will be staying. I think it's probably about an hour. Some of the best scenery on a DG course you'll ever experience!

Ahh, but you forget NORTHERN Wisconsin, home of Sandy Point, Telemark Resort, and definitely Highbridge!

Kinda sucks I "had to" split up WI and MN in this poll, but otherwise if we were all lumped into the Midwest, we'd probably be WAY ahead. ;)

Haven't been that far north yet. Hopefully there is a trip in the works for next summer, I can't wait to hit those as well. Totally agreed, throw MN in there and nothing stands a chance.
