[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Part VI)

Yeah, I'm thinking of just going the glow tape route for now. I really missed the Glitch last night.

I would definitely bag a Eclipse Glitch. Before I built my glow box to take advantage of good glow plastic, I often carried a Champ Zephyr with an LED on it for glow. Slow flying and stays on top of the snow. I can easily throw a Glitch 50' further and its way better for putting. Since I carry a minimal glow bag, but love to include silly/fun discs the glitch would be a shoe in. I have a gateway "big dog" in there now. And a Stego.

I would also pick up an Eclipse Glitch. When the Glitch came out, they were in my local PIAS quickly. I don't remember the plastic, but I didn't like the feel, and the only time I actually shook my head no at an MVP/Axiom disc. I have an Eclipse Envy and Reactor both dead straight, and my Lizotte Eclipse Hex arrived last night, expecting it to travel straight as well with more distance than the Reactor. Eclipse Glitch, yes. Since I lost a Fission Wave a little more than a week ago, and a Star Mamba yesterday, I have some room in my bag for an Eclipse Wave, I think that will be my next order. I would like to see how an Eclipse flies in an eleven speed.

I can apply a little "touch" (aka not ripping on the disc with all I got) with the Glitch, at least. Makes it a good soft landing approach option when I don't want to try to awkwardly jump putt something short.

Anyone familiar with the Ascend? Haven't really bonded with the Uplink or Paradox in my brief exposure and looking for something pretty specific: I'd like my Hokom Crave turnover with a little more right from the disc and a little less from me on the release. Thinking this may be a little more in the pocket than the mids.

Separately in MVP affiliated news, the Construct is REALLY nice as a neutral driver. Not too fast, too slow, too flippy, too stable. It just sits right in the center.

Maybe try a Rhythm? By the numbers the newer stock is a little less stable than Hokoms. I haven't tried them myself as I've been happy with Hokoms as my turnover fairways.

I threw some Ascend last summer, not as understable as my old(now lost), beat up circuit-Relay.

Still a fun disc

Finally threw the Rhythm this week and they are way more neutral than the Ascend for me. I use an Underworld in that slot and a light tissue paper Signal to throw uphill.

Which run is your Hokom? The new ones are fairly stable, especially compared to the previous ones.

I have been as well, but I'm trying to re-calibrate around an injury and the snap that I want to give the Crave on that line just isn't there right now. Hoping for a similar flight from a smoother motion.

Sticking my one and only electron Entropy in the bag. It's a forest green color. I'm going to do my best to not lose it while I patiently wait for another run of them or for the Axiom Tempo to come out. Hopefully they'll run the Tempo in electron.

Not sure why MVP refuses to cater to those of us who like base plastic putters.

I give them about another twelve months and then I post a YouTube video of me taking a torch to every MVP/Axiom/Streamline disc that I own.

Humor me: when you say neutral, I think of moving toward zero but not necessarily a direction. Did you find the Ascend more or less stable than the Rhythm?

Stable meaning straight? Rhythm was pretty straight with some fade.

I didn't see any -2 turn from the Rhythm, but I'm not a huge thrower. Ascend certainly gives a -2 turn.

Which rhythm did you get? Domey or flat? My 3 x domey 171's turn a lot more than my one flat 160 SE. I'd place the stability between a relay and a crave. (Not super up on craves these days). The rhythm for me is longer than the relay and turns as easily but comes back a little harder, yet somehow fades slower.

The lightweight signals are awesome uphill.

Relay, rhythm or signal for fairway, a virus is decently understable too. Relay is a decent fit, just a touch less stable than the crave, but I haven't thrown a hokum. Rhythm is decent too but not quite on the numbers, my domey ones are less stable than a PP crave, they do have a propensity towards straight though, a little more S than a relay. The signal has been nice in the 155g R2, I had some 174's and they didn't gel. Got one in my gyrobox and it's been decent. Really good uphill and decent in the woods, not so great downhill... that's where the ryhthm has really shone as a do it all fairway for me. It takes a little more juice but not much.

Anyone having "poser problems" ?

I was loading up my bag for a fun short course, partner with a junior tournament.. For whatever reason most of the stuff I selected (except for my beat electron envy) is pretty much new and shiny. The moment of realisation came when I was debating taking my hexolottle to get some daytime playtime with it, but I didn't want to look like a poser.... And then realized my whole bag had a bunch of fresh custom dyes and it's 8.5+/10 :D

I threw my Crave (formerly bagged for 2+ years) and two brand new Pyros yesterday and was self conscious not gonna lie lol

Oh I'm definitely gonna feel it too. My bag is all MVP/axiom/streamline save for one disc. I'm fully expecting fanboi/poser type accusations.

None of which are true. I've long maintained I'm a fan, not a fanboi. I have legit reasons for my decisions, none of which are based on what anyone else throws, who throws what, what is hyped up. Been throwing these discs long before they were cool.
