You have unlimited funds, and authorization...where would you put a DG course?

Maymont Park, Richmond, VA.

And I second the ideas for Rock Creek Park in DC and Central Park in NYC.

i've played object golf in maymont dozens of times, there is a tournament there in december every year (but you probably know that already)- good choice.

prospect park, brooklyn, New York theres an object course there but its time to upgrade

Why settle for Prosepect Park in Brooklyn...which granted, is a beautiful park...but what about Central Park!!!! Maybe not for a permanent course, but it would be awesome if they set up a temporary course once or twice a year and had a true Big Apple event...not only would it be awesome, but it would totally raise awareness about the sport.

I am constantly driving around saying, "you could put a sweet 9 holes right here!"

But with unlimited funds and resources I'm saying either Central Park or maybe something that goes through the Redwood National Forest...I've never been, but it looks amazing...so I think it would be sweet provided you didn't have to tear it up too much.

i would like to buy out a ball golf course and replace the holes with discs. i wanna throw a 500 yard hole, it would be like a par6, but fun to play if its kept up

That would be amazing...imagine a PDGA event at Pebble Beach or Beth Paige! I've always likend disc golf courses to 1/3 of a ball golf course....take Pebble Beach and turn it into a 54 hole monster!!!!

Inside an abandoned 2- or 3-story shopping mall...I think having an indoor 24-hour course would satisfy many of us, and who wouldn't want to shoot a hole from the ground level, over the fountain, and up onto a second floor balcony? Or down a tight corridor with a dogleg into the old food court? "A disc completely surrounded by Orange Julius is OB."

Awesome idea! Where do you play the lie if you make it in the deep fat fryer?

Next time Im parked on the BW pkwy in rush hour Im gonna pull over and disc through the woods in the median or the shoulder.

Along the beaches on the San Diego coast. Could you imagine teeing off with waves in your sight? Beautiful!

We have an object course up here on one of the beaches, beutiful views of the waves from almost every hole.

The great wall of China seams like it would make an epic place to play some disc.

I just can't help but think of the original Dawn of the Dead, filmed in the Monroeville Mall outside of Pittsburgh, PA. That would be sweet... as long as there are no zombies in the way... or wait, it could be a moving object course! :D

Rocky Gap State Park near Cumberland, MD

This is the most realistic idea I could come up with... and it's only a 20 minute drive from home. This is a fantastic piece of property. As you can see, I've laid out a bunch of holes all over the place. I did this last Winter when I was going stir crazy for disc golf. No courses closer than an hour drive for me now.

The lines are just a path so that I could figure out the walking distance. There are a couple groves of mature pines that are perfect for tunnel shots. Plus there's really nice woods around and lots of open space and elevation change to really air it out. Plus, given the funds, the lake would have to come into play.

If anyone's ever in the area and wants to set up a couple of baskets with me to check out what I've laid out, let me know.

there was discussion years ago about possibly putting 9 holes in rock creek park. there is also a guy currently attempting to get the dc folks interested in a course.

olympic national park would be my choice of places i've actually been- mountains, temperate rainforest and rugged pacific coast.

i'll go along with the lord of the rings guys for places i haven't been, although the rooftops of manhattan would be cool too.

I had not thought of the Olympic National Park. But, it would be great. Use Lake Quinault as your base area. That would be one of the most beautiful courses ever and one tough hombre.
