Nate, you answered too quickly! :(

Yep, the Ace Race 2012 disc (rumored to be named the Zombee?!) will get almost certainly get PDGA approval, but is not legal for sanctioned events yet.

well, first person got it right...wanted to know if only I was being stupid. Yes its after the fact, yes it means nothing...but I went out of my way NOT to pack a disc I like...and others freely use it. Heck my friend asked the TD and an expert specifically about a special run Yeti I got him.

I was gonna say ugly white shoes and socks, but its already been determined what was really wrong.

I think this suff about unapproved disc is garbage, Provided is what is in the physical limits of a golf disc, it all comes down to the player. Their are so many disc on the market that no new shapes, wings, stabilities are being made, it's just what feels good for you now.

That being said, MVP seems to be an exception, their disc are different in a new way to our sport.

rules are rules though, if he was in my group I would have called him...even some seasoned players pulled them from thier bags leading up to it...its quite the hit.

The Ace Race disc is a DGA (manufactured by Discraft) Squall.
Now, do you have to have PDGA approval to use a disc that has long since been cleared if it is released as an Ace Race disc?
Had this golfer died the disc, there would have been no issues with it's use. That is unless someone had picked it up, turned it over and looked for the PDGA approval stamp.

BTW, if you haven't thrown a Squall, you're missing out.

maybe discraft needs to have the ace race disc approved BEFORE sending it out...rather then having a rogue disc on the scene for 3 months that everyone is trying out...apart from the odd prototype or illegal disc, the only time this ever comes up is with ace race discs!

And he definately need black shoes.
