...both are from the tee, the long pin position is found by looking for the artificial line/horizon waaay out there. That's the path. Then there's a pond, and the pin is on the far side. I've heard from a couple different sources that one of the touring pros (Will Shusterick?) parked a shot over the trees, and ten feet past that basket!

Question: Are extinct courses allowed?

Yes extinct is always ok. But regular courses with pictures is recommended unless it doesn't exist. After that, holes with no pictures are ok, and object courses are ok.

i doubt we can get to 1000 even if we do use extinct courses...

i know, i know. i'm such a negative nancy.

I believe this too. But I don't think there will be as many missing hole lengths as some people think. I'm curious to see what the missing there are.

It would be cool if there was only a few missing, and someone made a special tee for their course or added a hole just to complete it. They could say its the only hole of that length that exists.

I'm curious to see just how complete a list we can compile as well.

wouldn't it be something if there were several missing distances and someone designed a new course just to fill those spots? (I suppose it'd have to be a helluva long course- likely with several wide open holes to accomodate those lengths... hen some local could local could give it a 5.0 for having "many unique holes."
