[Other] The DGCR Mold: Let's build a disc!

...GTs murder glide and lids live on glide. It's a big reason why the Polecat takes a dump on the Birdie (that and the awesome stamp discrepancy).
Agreed, a Thumtrac/GrooveTop can take away glide. And, like you mentioned, this is why I like the PC 1000x better than the Birdie.

However.

The Zephyr's large diameter is what keeps it relatively glidey/floaty despite the "Thumtrac." This is why I was hoping for a 22cm small Thumtrac lid. 22cm is slightly larger than the Roc/Buzzz and gives us a theoretical weight of 182.6 grams.

I like the idea of a neutral large diameter lid, preferably low profile to make it distinctive from other lids on the market. I don't know how many other golfers agree with me.

The next disc concept to get my vote would be a Rancho RocX/Buzzz OS OS/QSent type disc. But with the Gila on the way, the RocX3 and some others I think this segment might be oversaturated.

I like the slightly larger diameter idea but not the thumbtrac. While there is that slight trac on the Zephyr it also has a lot of dome and the huge diameter plays a role for sure.
Thumbtracs add stability but cut glide.

Fossil Weasel.

how crazy do we want to get?
I have a wonderfully grinchy idea that might be tricky to execute... definitely not a run-of-the-mill disc design!

Are we aiming for more standard injection mold design or do we want to consider a multi-shot process that is executionally similar to overmolding?

Most OS driver EVER made. Take that beastly Spirit wing, create a little drop down just inside the wing on the flight plate to kill the glide. Boom! The Stego of drivers is born.

Call it the Spineasaurus.

I like this idea. Tweak the OOPed Max mold to give it a little bit more glide and a little more OS? I think we should be tweeting to make a disc that wouldn't kick anything out of anyone's bag, but instead create its own spot in the bag. I would love a ArmorFlex Max

Don't care what it is, or what it's called, I will buy one. Make it a useful disc and I will buy more.

I think the ultimate dgcr disc would be a lid with the comets dome, mvp overmold, and fossil plastic.

But that sounds like a turd.

More practically a lid in fossil could be a lot of fun. Though, I am no legal expert, you might need to make the disc in your name and call in the DGCR. If you don't go that way, I'm voting for sloth in the inevitable pole.

Woodcocks are great, but... you guys are barely touching the surface of awesomely hilarious bird names here. I mean, there's the titmouse, the bushtit, the snowcock, the dickcissel, the masked booby, the hoary puffleg, etc., etc.

This isn't an RDG mold though.

I'm simply an idea guy who thinks this would be cool.

This is a DGCR mold. Approved with DGCR as the manufacturer. RDG will have no connection other than being a sponsor for the project.

Would it be something we have the current capability of doing?

In true DGCR fashion, everybody is going to request to be a tester. You should probably send us all tester discs. Plus one for each of our brothers, who, you know, use this forum every once in a while, but don't come on to post very often. Definitely send each of us a tester for them too.

What are the chances this DGCR lid would have Marmoset artwork on it?

You guys can pull this of! I would say a speed 3 disc, DGCR Trollicorn. Perfect grip, 3 3 - 1 1, flat but still with decent glide. Like a slower beat in roc that can handle everything. ;)

Also finance it with a kickstarter, a way to pre-purchase the disc with a tester discount.

Edit: in a premium plastic since it's too perfect too need be beat in obviously, Gummy Champ or K1/2?
