Celebrity Disc Golf

Whats even greater is Johnny watching "Steady Eddie" throwing the Frisbee and then Johnny saying in amazement "that must of gone thirty or forty feet!"

The look on his face is priceless.....I really am trying to fathom how amazed people were the first time frisbees came out!

If Sterling didn't retire early, he and Bret would of had the touchdown record for a combo. Sterling was the only hall of fame type receiver that Bret ever had. He had a few good ones, but not great like Sterling.

Mark Clayton
Antonio Freeman
Robert Brooks
Bubba Franks
Donald Driver
Javon Walker
Terry Glenn
Antonio Chatman
Greg Jennings

I hate to say it, but favre has had fantastic receivers, way better than most QB's ever get. I highly doubt that he would have the touchdown record if he played for a different team, he was blessed with a very good team around him. He is an incredibly great player, but i don't believe that he is in the top 5 best of all time

For example, with the World's being in Chicago next year...are there any guys from the Bears/Cubs/WhiteSox/Blackhawks/Bulls who play? Perhaps have the World's coincide with some sort of fund raiser to which these athletes would want to lend their name/celebrity to?
....

Just to make things clear so people aren't confused. The Worlds will be taking place in Indiana next year, you are correct in one sense, it is just south of Chicago:p. I do think you are right about the celebrity thing, we need some way of promoting our sport through a familiar face that the public idolizes.

OK you can strike Mark Clayton and Terry Glenn off of the list, simply because they came to the team at the end of their career and contributed next to nothing.
He played with Greg Jennings for what, 1 season?
Antonio Chatman???? Who???? He's a fantastic receiver...no, no, no.
Bubba Franks was never better than average....Listing Keith Jackson and Mark Chmura would make more sense.
Brooks and Freeman were pretty good, but how good would they have been without Favre?
You left Andre Rison off of the list...why is that, I mean he played with the Packers for like 6 games, caught a SB td and got a ring...

For most of Favre's career, he usually had an above average receiving corps, but all of those guys on the list were injury prone, so Favre was always having to deal with a revolving door of receivers. It's not like he was like Marino and had essentially the same 2 guys his entire career....

While I cannot give you specifics on who played, I do know that Disc Sports in Southern California was invited to set up a 9 hole temp course on the lot at Sony Picture Studios I believe. One of the prizes at the Fling XIII in Los Angeles was one of the tee signs from the course. If only I had been better at Ring of Fire.

Probably the reason most people were/are not aware of Jimmy Carter's sons is because at the time he lived in the white house(1977-1980)his sons were ages 30,27,and 25. His daughter Amy was 10 at the time and was the only child living with them there.
His boys must of stopped by for a visit when they played frisbee.
So...how far off the subject of this post did we go:p?

Back in March I saw an interview with Ben Roethlisburger and his sister who plays for the Basketball at Oklahoma and they mentioned playing DG as kids.

Regardless of this info I still hate the Steelers. GO BENGALS!!!

I had heard that Sterling Sharpe of Green Bay Packers fame; who's brother, Sterling was announcing for ESPN (and still may be), was pretty good....but, I never saw him on a course or anything. Perhaps some of the ultimate guys in Madison would have more info.

I think you meant Sterling's brother Shannon. That's quite interesting to hear about Sterling, especially since he's a fellow Gamecock (University of South Carolina grad). He's working on NFL Network now from what I hear.

I'll ask about it, since he lives in Columbia, SC (Home of USC Gamecocks).

Really?!?!?! Sterling Sharpe was an absolute monster!! The only WR I ever heard of who could bench 450...if injury hadn't cut his career short, I bet he'd be in Canton right now waiting for Brett....with 3 rings!?!?!?!

You might be right! I saw every home game he played in at USC and a few away games also. He's supposed to be a pretty darn good ball golfer too.

I can not tell how excited I got when I read Ed Norton and Bobby Flay. I would have to call that my absolute dream foursome for a course when you include Ken Climo.

Mmm...I've been to Bobby Flay's restaurant a few times in Vegas.

I love the food network. It's just like porn for me. I watch it for a while then I have to relieve myself. In Food Network's case, it's ussually a sandwich.

Paula Dean, Bobby Flay, Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, and Good Eats are some of the best shows on TV, IMO.
