[MVP] MVP Tangent

Come on guys lets hear some first impresions.

Its Sunday. The disc was released on Friday, there has to be a few people who have something to say about the Tangent.

None of my local shops get new stuff in on release dates so i had to order online =/ it will be a week before i get a review up.

I got to throw my new tangents yesterday at Roy G in Austin. This disc is the easiest straight flyer I have ever thrown. There aren't a lot of options to throw a mid off of the tee at Roy G, but when I did, it was a thing of beauty. I threw it on hole 10, which is dead nuts straight for a little over 300'. I threw my pink 179 tangent straight up the middle and it just went straight with no turn and no fade out to about 275' and then dropped gently leaving about 20' to the basket. I've never been able to throw any disc so far so absolutely straight. I also tried it on hole 8, which is a little over 300' with a dog leg to the left. I threw a lefty backhand on a high anhyzer line and it held to almost pin high and had just a small amount of fade at the end. I've never had a brand new disc that was so consistent, predictable, and easy to throw straight. I can't wait for MVP to release a high speed distance driver so I can throw MVP only (except for putters, I can't putt with MVP's).

This is just what I'm looking for. I'll get mine in today. My problem with mids has always been power. I've thrown Rocs for so long, and they and Vectors are discs that can handle a lot of torque which really masked my form flaws. Now that I've corrected it somewhat, I'm always a bit cautious on powering up a mid...lately I've been using my Rocs for 150-200 foot "touch shots" that require more of a simple flick than a true pull.

So I guess I'm wondering just how understable this Tangent is? About three months ago, I was torquing the Axis and turning into a burner...how was your grip on the Tangent when you were getting it out past 250? I'm looking for a mid that I can truly work lines with, and this sounds like it could be a winner.

Got my tangent in the mail today. It feels/looks awesome. Going out in the rain today to test it a little.

note: those buzzz's came today as well

Got out today for a quick rainy/windy round. But pretty much used my Tangent on every hole. I am a recreational player (since starting grad school), but I noticed that the tangent was amazingly straight even low-powered and held every line I threw it on (hyzer, straight, and anhyzer). The course I played was half in the woods and I found the tangent extremely useful for tight/tunnel shots. With the weather conditions today I found that the Tangent needed to be released with proper form to get the desired flight. Any OAT and it turned out of the hand. I don't have a huge arm (375-400 ft max), but I was able to get this out to about 300 ft. on a nice hyzer route.
I haven't been throwing MVP mids for awhile now (buzzz, wasp combo), but I definitely think the Tangent will stay in my bag for any super straight or anhyzer mid shots.

One word: effortless. Amazing disc. I'll be posting a more thorough review on InfiniteDiscs, but this disc is just great. Feels just like an Anode, and flies pretty similiar but much longer. Staying in the bag!

I haven't thrown one, but holding one in the local shop the other day, I'd say it feels nothing like an Anode.

Yeah, I just got home and mine was waiting for me. I don't think it feels anything like an Anode.
To be more clear, the rim feels like nothing else, but it has the depth of a mid like a Core/Fuse/Buzz/Hornet and is super flat. White, 175g. I'm so bummed I have to wait until tomorrow to throw it. One-disc round, here I come!....weather permitting. ;)

Aaaaaand, looking at the forecast, 20mph winds may not be the best test environment tomorrow. :(

Ok, grab a Tangent and tell me it doesn't look and feel just like a putter. Obviously it is a larger diameter, but it definetly feels like MVPs putters, as opposed to the Vector and Axis which feel more like "true" mids. The rim does feel different, and it has a bit of a bead which is odd since it is very stable with a bit of understability. So easy to get a nice, straight flight. Like, dead straight. Similiar to a Mako in that regard but definetly longer. Excels at anhyzer approaches as well when you give it some height. I threw it on an extreme right dog leg on my home course, around 150, and my first shot hit the pole and the second missed chains by mere inches. I am by no means a power thrower, but that hole I was throwing about 50 percent power...so you can see there is much distance potential with this awesome disc.

Also want to mention this is the perfect compliment to my Rocs. For all MVP throwers, this might kick the Axis out of the bag. Much less finicky. But a Vector-Axis-Tangent Congo covers just about any midrange shot you can tho k of.

Light Bulb!

How about we see some profile porn of the tangent vs anode vs axis

can i get a 2nd?
