Do you want this guy playing in your league?

I wouldn't want him in my league.
ESPECIALLY because he just said to me: "Go f*** yourself."

In general I would rather not have these type of guys within 100 yards of the course.

But, with that being said, I think all the things you could do back to him would just bring you down to his level.

Keep playing by your rules and leave it at that.

This is what I had posted on his Facebook wall as well as on the page for Oak Brook Leagues.

"XXXXXX, you are BANNED from playing doubles with us. I saw that someone had made an error and posted that we started at 6:00 today. Because of that, I had waited for you. And when your brother Anthony told us that you were at the corner, I had waited at least another 5 minutes for you (which inconvenienced 20 other players that payed money) and you still didn't show.

We drew cards and even had to re-draw because of you. Yet you still were not there. A 6:00 start time means just that....we start at 6:00. You should have been there at least by 5:45 if we start at 6:00.

We teed off AFTER 6:00 and finished in the dark because of you. You need to start being on time! If I had waited for you, we wouldn't have started until at least 6:15...10 mins after we actually started!

You have my number and are more than capable of sending me a private message. However, you choose to handle this like a child. If you ever come around me again, I may just call the cops. Because I take your actions of spitting on my car as a serious threat.

You are BANNED from Oak Brook/Summit Doubles and you are NOT welcome anymore."

You handled it the right way. If I was his brother it would be embarrassing having people know we were related.

i dont think you needed to post on facepoop but whatever thats your perogative. i agree with mashnut, theres no reason to hold up 20 people who were on time and expecting to start at a pre-determined time. i'd just let the group decide the response to the late a**hole. that will better get the point across.

Banned from the league.. this db needs to be banned from disc golf. If someone did that to my car, and I knew who it was, he'd be posting pictures of a black eye on facebook.

Send the guy a PM inviting him to a doubles round at a new private course.

Give him directions to BFE and have a good laugh.

Today I had a guy who was running late. We were supposed to start at 5:45pm but someone had posted that it was starting at 6:00pm. I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt since he was talking to his brother on the phone and told him that he was at the corner. I waited and he didn't show. We ended up drawing cards around 5:55pm and didn't tee off until just after 6pm.

The guy shows up as we are almost to our tees and throws a huge fit (he's done this before). He then proceeds to post stuff all over facebook only making himself look worse. On top of it all he had spat on my car because I didn't wait for him.

I had banned him from playing doubles in our local league. What would you do?
i would have charged his brother to clean my car too:thmbup::D

That's what we have rules for. So that you can resolve a ugly situation without any fuzz.

Just give him the normal penalty strokes for showing up late. If he does not show up late, then you can not do anything. If he is throwing a fit, well, give him a warning for courtasy violation. Just dont get too involved with him.

The problem with giving any sort of penalty for the round for an individual in this case is that you penalize the other random player who drew him (league is a random draw doubles league).

I was there on hole 1 teeing off when this guy pulled up. Everybody had already gone to their holes with their partners. He asked me if we already drew cards and I said yeah. He then proceeded with the "battle cry" to the sky. It was kinda funny until Skunk found the spit on his window. Then It became personal.. I don't wanna play DG with people who act childish and disrespectful. I'm glad he's banned. Now we never have to wait again!:)

Even his brother was pissed and wanted to kick his ass....so I heard. Who could blame him? As far as I know he was being lied to making him look bad.

I had to post something on there because he's on there all the time, not to mention the 100 some odd guys that look on there as well. He started by saying all kinds of ignorance and kept spewing ignorance which only made him look worse.

We had db around here back in the day. He was so bad he got banned from out of town tournaments and doubles.

Sorry to be the grammar police but I see this all the time on this site.
It's "paid" not "payed". :D

Has he done anything in the past? And what could he do to get back in good standings with the league? Everyone deserves 2nd chances no matter who you are. Maybe tell him to empty garbage cans or something then he will be welcomed back if he shows on time.

He was late another time last year and he had called me to tell me....which is fine. However, I had told him that if I had an even number that I was going to start without him so he wouldn't make it an odd number and HE AGREED. When he got there and we were all walking off he threw a fit, started screaming, dropping F-bombs, and stormed out of there.

It took him a few weeks but he came back and apologized. I thought that took guts so I gave him another chance. Then he pulls this stunt. It's fine if he want to be pissed but when he spat on my car.....that crossed the line.

posting his real full name on an internet forum may not be the best way to handle it.

I didn't mean to...copy and paste. However, there are plenty of people from my area that browse on here and they should all be warned of his actions. Facebook is a pretty public site as well. This guy is lucky that I don't post some of his postings from there.

What can he do to get back in good standing with you and the league?
