I looked up the 2010 goals thread and the goals I set for my game/skill seemed to have been reached (they weren't too lofty). The biggest contributor was going to a straddle putt and ditching the soft putter.

I had some course goals set, To play the course in Pagosa Springs CO near my parents cabin, mission accomplished. I had 13 courses I hadn't played of the 41, 50 miles from my house, I wanted to be at 8 or less, I'm at 9 and one of them is 10 min from the house so I can still get to my goal. I wanted to get to Austin to play Manor, Circle C, Met Center. I only played Manor. I was at 72 courses played and wanted to be at 85/90. I am at 90.

2011 Goals. Keep my rating over 935 (currently 936). Play 5 pdga events. Try and get my courses played to 100. With a baby on the way I'm not sure what role disc golf will play in my life.

These goals really help me with my game and I suggest everyone set at least two types of goals: yearly and career.

Here were my goals from last year:

Done - 1) Throw 450' (Just broke 400' yesterday)
Close - 2) Be consistantly 10/10 20' and in.
No - 3) Have 8/10 consistantcy from 30'
No - 4) Play 7 more courses (including Whistlers)
got 4 - 5) Get an ace (doesn't hurt to put it right?)
Done - 6) Score 900+ rated rounds in a tournament (Right now I've had one but my second round was below)
Done - 7) Get a membership and get my rating over 880.
Done - 8) Host a fundraiser tournament for the Western Oregon Disc Golf Club.

Putting can always use practice, also goal #1 is competitive distance.

Good job, but great example that putting and midrange is most important. i'll be about 970 rated in next update but can hardly reach 400'. (sounds like you are a better putter too) Forget the 450' goal. Make a goal to add a thumber/tommy/flick roller etc. Right now under 900 rated throwing 400' is probably inefficient. Concentrate on hitting the fairway every time up to 300' with all types of throws. You will see that rating explode.

I have had a lot of help from Charlotte area pro's. Stan McDaniel, Matt Keatts... etc. Oh. and not working for all of 2009 and just building courses and playing helped too.

Win 1 A-Tier Win 2 C-Tier advanced events
Top 10 Am Worlds (stretch goal top 5)
Top 5 Charlotte Amateur Championship

Longer thumbers.
Putting:
9/10 from 20
8/10 from 25

Add BackHand Roller.
Increased flexibility (probably with, YES I said it, Yoga)

These were my last years goals, but thanks for the advice. I have learned a thumber, flick roller, grenade, worked on putting, and less on distance this year and it has really helped.
