[Other] The DGCR Mold: Let's build a disc!

I think Tims really gonna be on board with this. Have a dgcr disc pdga approved as a functional promotional piece for dgcr; the land of trolls... lol

While we're talking about stamps
"Use the search, there are already discs like this"
That works even better for a disc completely different than anything currently available.

Have to give it a completely useless flight number rating too- like 15/9/13/-7
That's a good one.

How about 9/0/0/1 for a lid, with a stamp like:

I am down for a lid. I agree with the lower profile and no thumbtrack.

Which makes me think, are we ready for a vote on features? Can we put up a poll for a lid and give options for dimensions and whatnot? Say we have 24, 23, 22, 21.5, 20 diameter options along with rim depth options, then maybe a Yes thumbtrack/No thumbtrack option? After we get the dimensions down, I figure we could move on to plastic types, name, then stamp.

Thoughts?

Just to be safe, I'll post a thread for final mold vote.

Reminds me of another DGCR classic meme: Pee on your boobs.

Hopefully this ends up being a lid - with under-side Platbee stamp but can't be too choosy.

If so, in order to appeal to a broader audience I think it should also be available in Gateway's softest plastic so it can be used as a catch disc.

My golfing bag is pretty set, but it's nice to take an old R-Pro Dart and toss some warm up throws about 50-100 feet apart with my playing partner as a warm up or just around the backyard with my wife and kids.

I think as far as large scale usability across all members, a polecat style lid would be best. Everyone can use one. Not everyone may "need" one but everyone can use one. Other discs such as a "faster" disc x or a "more stable" disc y are just niche things that may or not have a use with everyone.

Just my 2 cents

I would love a RFF lid for catch and fun purposes.

I agree on the whole sentiment. A lid in general is going to be the most universally usable.

The plan for this project would be:
- determined mold design
- fundraise tooling (I have some ideas to make this fun and provide some "ownership" for the contributors)
- produce discs
- sell, enjoy & support DGCR with the profits.

Agreed.
We are still in phase one.
We still need to decide on the type of disc we'd like to make.

Should we make a poll for:
---lid/putter/mid/fairway/distance?
or
---each of the specific suggestions below?

FWIW, I vote for polling the categories then the specific options afterwards.

I just went through the thread and these are all the suggestions I found:

LIDS:
large diameter lid
stable glidey lid
low profile lid
Polecat OS
Polecat with Thumtrac
22cm Polecat with very slight Thumtrac
Polecat clone in different plastics
Zephyr clone in different plastics
#1 upshot clone in different plastics
86 softie in different plastics
shallower Thumtrac Birdie
Lockjaw clone in different plastics

PUTTERS:
Beadless Challenger
putter-mid tweener, 4/2/0/1
more comfortable Nova clone
driving putter mold
21cm version of the Lil' Wiz
slower beat roc/Colt 3/3/-1/1

MIDS:
Roc clone in different plastics
Comet clone in different plastics
beadless Comet
Nebula clone in different plastics
OS mid
dx Roc with Champ overmolded bead area only
massively understable anti-stego

FAIRWAYS:
longer Teebird
Second Run FD clone in different plastics
modded Firebird for less overstability
Thunderbird/PD type disc
tweaked Sabre
sharp overstable speed 6
neutral fairway driver
massively OS driver
Viper clone in different plastics
Gazelle clone in different plastics

DISTANCE:
blunt understable speed 10
cyclable-plastic distance driver for the masses
groove that flies -2/2

I don't know about the rest of y'all but I'm stoked to get this project underway!
